The car of the future is versatile in terms of the interior, dashboard and center console. In autonomous driving, the multimedia display doubles in size and the steering wheel folds away. Functions are selected via integrated control elements, touch screen and touchpad with active, haptic feedback. Smart surfaces have integrated control elements.

Center stack operating system
Preh presented innovative automotive control systems (HMI) for the center console (center stack) at the IAA. Central display contents can be moved to the instrument cluster using gesture control. When functions are selected on the touch screen, you get visual and haptic feedback. A rotary knob connects conventional, mechanical operating elements with the digital world of displays. Various functions can be accommodated in small spaces.

Touchscreen in the car
At the IAA, Preh Automotive showed new possibilities of integrating 'haptic landscapes' into a touchscreen. Up to now, the driver has not received any feedback from the system via a touchscreen when performing functions. The solution presented provides haptic feedback by pressing vibrating buttons and sliders on the screen. The driver thus receives noticeable feedback from his selection of functions.
